So it's the last piece of rights issues that we had to deal with. “ Wilson: Well, we had a dispute over Spectre, and after years of discussions we finally got the rights to it. In the Name of Spectre (and Sequels) Question: The title is obviously very exciting for Bond fans. So I think he's a real magnet for actors. He's a real actor's director and a great storyteller and - as it turns out, now, after these two movies - a great action director too. Broccoli: But Sam's a real magnet for actors. Wilson: But the other cast members, again, I think whenever you have a high-quality cast, they want to know what the script is and what they're supposed to do. We had to talk him into it, and it sure paid off. Broccoli: Well, Daniel took a little talking into. Was it one of those things where you call people and say, "Do you want to be Bond?" "Yes." Wilson: You'd be surprised how much people have to be talked into it, because it just takes over their life, you know. So there were tremendous pressures there.įor Cast and Country Question: I'm curious about putting the cast together. We really want to come up to the plate and not try to rest on our laurels. You thought you'd sneak that one, did you? Pressure's On Question: Do you guys feel more pressure with this movie than you did with Skyfall? Wilson: I think when you come off a successful film - I think all of us felt we had to keep some momentum going. Question: Is Quantum related to Spectre? Broccoli: Oh, you'll have to see the movie. White showed up, and he was back in Casino Royale. As you move forward with this film, are you going to continue to create more of a continuity, at least for an arc of films? Wilson: Well, you saw also that Mr. Question: There's a link with Skyfall at the very least. I think is an amazing director and we've got a great cast and a great story. I think we've really done a good job on this one. We try to get the right blend of classic Bond and a contemporary twist, and come up with new storylines. So it's interesting to hear Christoph Waltz say, "It's been a long time." What's it like for you guys to dance around that? Barbara Broccoli: It's always a challenge. “ Question: It's a fascinating franchise for continuity, because it's sort of there and it sort of isn't.
